I am intrigued with mountains, their formation, evolution & beauty. The history of geology is fascinating. Small rocks & stones are, essentially, mountains except for size. Ratio, proportion, relative size, all plays a part in the magnitude of the structures. There is an aesthetic magic of scale. I approach my work as a window through which I observe my surrounds & a mirror to bring my sensibilities to bear, reflecting my inner state. I layer & blend to merge the observed environment with my intuition. I place stones in my photos of mountainous landscapes while obscuring the scale references.
