Why not just restore it ?

In July 2017 has begun the destruction of a controversial monument in Sofia, Bulgaria. This monument was built in 1981 to celebrate 1300 years of the foundation of the Bulgarian State. Then, it was considered as an « ugly » « communist symbol ». Maybe because of its visual abstractness, it is hard to understand it, to like it, but it is still Art. And Art cannot be destroyed. Why not just restore it ?
