I took this photo during the demonstration for Palestine in Cagliari, on September 22, 2025. A mother holds a powerful sign with a reworking of a passage from If This Is a Man by Primo Levi, alongside images of Gaza’s children. As I pressed the shutter, her son approached and embraced her. That kiss, so loving and natural, a moment of normality between mother and child—in that context, with her hand firmly gripping the sign, assumed an earth-shattering meaning.
