“In Japan, the red spider lily is seen as a flower that marks the boundary between life and death.Within her crimson gaze, light and shadow flicker — a whisper from the threshold.” The red spider lily symbolizes the boundary between life and death in Japanese culture. In this work, I combined this symbol with traditional attire to express the emotions drifting at that threshold. The interplay of light and shadow across the half-revealed face reflects the ambiguity of memory and the whispers of the heart.
