This city began with its markets. The Dongmen, the central market—these places offered people a space for encounter, for food, for daily life; for many, they even became home. Each person who enters a market is, in some way, redefined by its constant transformations: you may be a traveler, a vendor, or simply a passerby. How do these markets evolve and keep pace with the changing times? And conversely, how might we redefine such places in ways that resonate with our present era?
