This portrait series from the Mythical Kiki Ballroom in Kraków captures a vibrant LGBTQ+ community rooted in the global ballroom movement. Born in 1970s New York as a safe space for Black and Latinx trans people, ballroom is now a worldwide act of resilience. In Poland—a culturally homogeneous and Catholic society—the Kiki scene is a radical act of visibility, uniting queer people and migrants in celebration, defiance, and solidarity.
