The project Beyond the Veil of Reality seeks to depict the world of the dead. When I was in middle school, I witnessed three deaths on the roads and shores of Dong-gu, Ulsan, South Korea. Even now, whenever I pass by those places, I find myself wondering—might the spirits of the departed still linger there? If those souls continue to wander above the earth, what do they see? What words might they wish to speak? I dedicate this project to those three individuals.
I studied philosophy and art at the University of Bremen and received my PhD in philosophy from the University of Bonn. I have been writing on philosophical issues surrounding artificial intelligence.I am also active as a photographer, having held five solo exhibitions and published two photobooks. I have received thirteen awards and honors in international photography competitions. My work is driven by a deep interest in expressing the worlds and conceptions of humanity that emerge from my imagination through the language of photography.
