This photograph captures a local immersed in his daily routine at Danam Bay, a site renowned for its pearl cultivation. On this particular morning, a dense mist blanketed the sky, gradually lifting as the sun pierced through with gentle rays, caressing the lake’s surface with a delicate touch. Vietnam has emerged as a significant exporter of pearls in the global jewelry market. Yet, this image reveals how traditional practices endure—quietly, steadfastly—amid the currents of modernization. No filters, no edits: what you see is the raw moment, as it unfolded.

After a career in business, at age 56 I decided to pursue my passion, conceptual nature photography. During the last 15 years, I have traveled to many places in my home country Colombia and also I have had the opportunity to travel to places like Calafate, Argentina; Vietnam; Iceland; natural parks in the United States; Japan and many other wonderful places around the world.
