6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2 This chemical reaction, powered by sunlight, is the basis for all life on earth: photosynthesis. Green plants absorb photons, particles of light energy, to power the creation of glucose from carbon dioxide and water, which supports the entire food chain. “Photo Synthesis” is a reflection on this extraordinary transformation of light into matter that is at the heart of the cycle of life, shot on a wooden, large-format, plate film camera in southwest France.
