A pandemic Saturday (November 7) kicks off with joy and hope as the media announces Joe Biden replacing Donald Trump as President of the United States. Brookynites turned out in droves––a celebration not unlike VE Day. The American flag was reclaimed, waved and worn around celebrants looking toward a brighter future for their country. It was an exhilarating experience and refreshing to see so many souls gather at Barclays Center and Grand Army Plaza to celebrate someone winning, instead of mourning another life lost at the hands of law enforcement.
