I have always been interested in ceramics and ancient history so when I was approached by a client about doing a set of photographs of a collection of neolithic pottery from China for a book project, I jumped at the chance. Little did the client or I know that as both the collection and the aesthetic he wanted changed, it would be a project 4 years in the making. As the photographer, in comparing the work to my client's extensive collection of reference books on the subject, it's a body of work that I am proud of.
