This is a self portrait that explores what it means to be in mental health recovery as well as the experience of being a mental health patient. Stigma from others or stigma one gives themselves is often connected to whether or not one takes medication. For some, it’s a double bind. Side effects of the meds were worse than the symptoms they treated. So this person asked what’s worse, being crazy or being crazy? If there’s no way around it, what options are left?
