I created my own Venice - a version, that only exists in my head. Unreal. Beautiful. Quiet. It's a city without souvenir stands, gondolas and tourist crowds. No colour. No distraction. The series is dedicated to the beautiful Venetian architecture and cityscape. Smooth water. Dark streets. And in between there are magnificent old churches that illuminate the darkness. These buildings with the cracked facades tell stories - about the rise of Venice, the prosperity of bygone times and the slow decline. I tried to capture these stories with my camera.

I'm 34 years old, live in Dresden (Germany) and work as a real estate agent. I do not earn money with photography. Nevertheless, it feels wrong for me to call photography “just a hobby“. For me it is so much more than that.
