Taken at Tama Zoo in Hino, Tokyo, Japan. The Orangutans are very clever and mimic peoples actions. On this morning I was standing on a higher piece of concrete to get a better point of view as people crowd around when the Orangutan comes close to the glass. I was very lucky to be able to capture this shot. A lady put her hand to the glass and Api the Orangutan put his hand up to hers. There was an eerie silence as it was so touching. I believe we all need connection with animals, to feel something, to feel close to nature. Even when the glass is separating us, we still feel the connection.
