Bikolanos are known children of the Blessed Mother as they fondly called Mary as INA. This is part of Bikolano’s Catholic spirituality. Every September, all roads are leading to Naga City, Cam. Sur to pay homage to Our Lady of Peñafrancia. Peñafrancia Festival is one of the biggest & most popular religious events in the Philippines. “In the course of (more than) 300 years, this bond between faith and culture has strengthened to a point where the overwhelming majority of Bicolanos regard the Virgin to be much more than a mere patroness. The relationship is intimate. She is a MOTHER.”
