Inspired by John Baldessari’s assignments, I created my own - ‘watch and wait’. Here I explore the psychological and existential aspects of life with an incurable blood cancer where the standard protocol is ‘watch and wait’. I use a playful yet critical manner to explore this experience. Mythology, fairytales, and hospital imaging are used to explore the perplexing human delusion that we will live forever - one which I woke up from – as does Sleeping Beauty with the kiss of her prince. Shot in Saskatchewan on our family farm and the neighboring cemetery, where I now play and will later rest
