Dromedaries chained in an enclosure in Doha, the capital of the desert emirate Qatar, seen from a tour bus during a three-hour city tour. Camels play a special role in local culture, with major camel beauty contests held every year.

I am an experienced journalist and I have been working for more than ten years as an editor and reporter for German public radio, in the field of news, reportage. Alongside, I devote a greater part of my time to journalistic photography. I taught myself photography with a manual camera. Even to this day, I prefer shooting with manual settings and lenses. I classify my work as street photography and travel photography, executed with a clear journalistic-documentary consciousness and focus.
