The Dashiye Festival in Minxiong, Taiwan, marks a revered ritual each seventh lunar month. At the finale, a deity effigy is burned, symbolizing peace and the release of wandering spirits. This photo captures the combustion's peak, where flames resemble the bodhisattva Guanyin—believed to be Dashiye’s divine origin. Locals saw this as a spiritual sign, an answer to collective faith. A fleeting yet powerful moment, where devotion, tradition, and fire converge.
I am an amateur photographer with a deep passion for photography. During weekdays, I focus on my regular work, while on holidays, I dedicate my time to capturing students' sports events as well as Taiwan's religious and cultural activities. The sport I photograph most frequently is baseball.
