This is visual fairy tale about love and long distance communication inspired by my granddaughters Himawari and Oceana who live in Japan while I live in the US. I used photographs from my archives including a Pegasus kite at Coney Island, photo of high tension wires on the New Jersey turnpike, the Strawberry Moon and a child wearing a kitsune mask to make an AI model trained on my work. Hokusai's wave is a recurring theme from open source AI competition where I won first prize.Like all fairy tales it has its dark moments of mystery and unknown but also enters a world of magic and surrealism.
"My fine art practice, influenced by surrealism, conceptual art and psychoanalysis is based on a lifelong respect and passion for photography. Now, I train AI models exclusively on my photographic archives to push the limits of pictorial plasticity while continuing my traditional digital photography practice simultaneously. I brought back a renewed sense of adventure to my 35mm digital photography.
