10,000 years ago, wild mammals represented 99% of animal biomass, while humans made up only 1%. Today, this ratio has reversed, with only 1% of animals remaining wild. My photographic project "Humanimalia" explores the complex relationship between humans and nature in Africa. Inspired by a quote from Lacan, I created images juxtaposing monochrome wildlife with colorful human elements, highlighting the ephemeral beauty of wildlife in the face of human expansion. It is a heartfelt call for the preservation of our planet and its creatures.
