This series distills my river restoration—physically cleaning a neglected stream and creating sumi ink, which I submerged into the water as an act of purification—into haiku-like portraits. Water’s renewal mirrors inner change, weaving a quiet narrative. The iris veils a meditative gaze (1), its depth echoing through ripples. Petals strike the surface, entrusting wishes—love or clean water—to distant currents (3). At dusk, a clenched hand evokes silent change, inviting the golden brook (4). Faint light whispers water’s duality: calm within chaos, the cycle beneath.
Yu Kajima, Tokyo photographer, probes human connections through portraiture and elements. 25 years in optics led to photography via workshops, inspired by transient meetings. Her work defies consumer norms, asking 'What lasts?' in 'Blueprint of Thought' (nude silhouettes as blueprints) and 'Element Water' (renewal via river cleanups). ARTportlk 2023 showcased water FRP sculptures fusing photo and material. Grounded in real experiences, MY images foster reflection—absence exposing truth. 'Even if it doesn't reach,' I connects body, mind, nature.
