These two frames were taken at the starting point of the nationwide protests following the arrest of the presidential candidate and Mayor of Istanbul. The demonstrations began on March 19 in front of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality building, next to the historic Şehzade Mosque. Directly across stands the Aqueduct of Valens, where police set up meters-long barricades, creating a striking contrast between cultural heritage and civil unrest.
