The sun pierced the branches in a single flare, revealing layered textures: the hard geometry of stone, the soft carpet of maple leaves, and the floating dust of light. By removing people from the frame I wanted to leave only the traces of human ritual and let the light and leaves tell the small, cyclical stories of pilgrimage and passing time.
