Nestled in the heart of the Rift Valley, fed by natural springs, Lake Magadi, with its warm, salty waters rich in microorganisms, is a true spectacle of nature. During the dry season, strong evaporation increases the salinity level of the basin, which takes on the strange appearance of a mosaic of irregular slabs with whitish surface streaks due to the accumulation of sodium. During the dry season, the lake is dotted with thousands of wading birds and greater flamingos, which feed on the algae and microorganisms that live in its waters.
