Under the fading glow of sunset, Tre Cime di Lavaredo echoes tales from World War I, where rocky spires bore silent witness to historic struggles. Now, under serene skies, the majestic peaks bridge past and present as the ethereal arch of the Milky Way ascends, accompanied by Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS), a celestial wanderer illuminating this iconic landscape. In capturing this rare alignment, my photograph invites contemplation—an interplay of natural beauty and historical remembrance, evoking the timeless harmony between human history and the vast cosmos.
Nicholas Dunn began photographing at age ten, inspired by his father and grandmother. From the Kansas plains to landscapes abroad, he developed a style rooted in abstraction, where nature reads like drawing or design. By eighteen, his work earned international recognition, including multiple honors at the International Photography Awards with a second place in Architecture/Historic. Through fire, water, ice, and land, Nicholas seeks to reveal the patterns and fleeting visions etched by the earth itself.
