While on a trip to Cuba, I explored an area filled with old buildings whose dry, cracked, and textured walls were covered by street art. One building with windows was covered with patterns of pastel smudges that really appealed to me. I wasn’t sure if the patterns were intentional or the result of time and weather revealing past layers beneath the surface. What stood out most, though, was the daily wash hanging on a clothesline handily created outside one of the windows. This added a human touch to the scene, transforming it from a study in art or architecture to a glimpse of daily life.
I am Morris Asato or ‘Morey’ to some of my friends and an amateur photographer from San Diego, California. I have been using photography as a creative outlet for several years. As you can see from my images, I do cover a variety of subjects but the one element I try to bring to my composition is some blend of art and photography. Since a lot of my images are creative expressions of what I sense and visualize, the term creative art photography probably sums it best. My hope is that my images connect with others who can sense the feeling I was trying to convey. -- www.zenfotos.com --
