I dreamed I was hiking through a snowy forest. I followed the tracks in the snow that were visible along a path. Only the bark of the trees and the branches not covered in snow formed a visible contrast in the white winter landscape. Everything seemed like a dream, an illusion, or a fantasy. Was it reality or a dream? This captivating winter atmosphere inspired me to create this series, as did Impressionism, which celebrated its 150th anniversary last year. I am deeply fascinated by this style and wanted to pay tribute to it. I captured the landscape using a learned photographic technique.

I am 54 years old and live in Seligenstadt, Hesse. For many years, I worked as a landscape gardener, where I was able to work creatively with nature. Due to tragic events, I can no longer pursue my profession, which gave me time to devote more intensively to photography. Initially, it was primarily while traveling and in nature that I discovered abstract and contemporary photography. With a camera, you can create beautiful, individual works of art; you just have to get involved. This doesn't happen at the push of a button, however; it happens intuitively, based on the situation.
