Fitting In

  • Photographer
    Alexandra Weissgerber

Obviously, this fallen leaf does not fit into its environment. It only got there by chance, carried away by the wind. Likewise, life could get us into situations where we feel like we do not belong. We are then faced with a choice: To persist and resist, if the cost is worth the sacrifice, or to find a more suitable environment, where we feel truly cherished and accepted.

Alexandra Weissgerber is a self-taught photographer based in Germany. Even though photography has not been her profession so far, it has always remained her greatest passion. Through fine art, she explores abstract concepts, ideas and emotions that relate to the universal human experience. Her work invites viewers to look behind appearances and discover magic, spirituality and a profound sense of meaning in the ordinary. Identifying as a global citizen, she seeks to emphasize the common ground of our shared humanity over our differences.
