“Street Flowers 4” explores the ephemeral and ever changing nature of being. Taken at a flower stand on the Upper West Side, the image was transformed through shifts in color, light, and layered composition. The result evokes the protean beauty of the flowers, and, by extension, the transient, recurring beauty of all things.
Sam Rittenberg lives and works in New York City and the Dominican Republic. His primary focus is on photography’s ability to explore the paradoxical interplay between the finite and the infinite. He is guided by the belief that every image holds the potential to serve as a portal to what ordinarily lies beyond us.
