A trip to photograph the wild Gelligaer Ponies in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, UK. My primary purpose was to photograph stallions fighting. As I began my descent from the National Park, having not managed to achieve this, I spotted a large group of ponies. I parked up and set off on foot. Staying a safe distance, I spent some time with the group. I created these images by layering a combination of photographs I have taken of historic buildings and textures.
I had originally specialised in photography at art college but found my way into interior design, which in turn led to a computer aided kitchen design job. I found working inside four walls didn't work for me and after being diagnosed with depression I decided it was time for me to pick up my first love. I enjoy the creativity that photography allows and like to experiment with different styles and ways of creating images. I do this between doing the odd commission. My aim is to become successful enough for photography to be my main source of income so I can spend more time doing it!
