When countries are not at war, borders are often overlooked. In moments of silence, the contrast between two sides tends to blur, becoming less linear, more complex, sometimes even intertwined. But silence is never neutral. I believe it is vital to observe borders precisely during quiet times, when change is forming. Border Stories captures life in two border towns – Gorizia and Nova Gorica, which were both named the European Capital of Culture in 2025. I took photos of people and spaces and asked those I met to draw the border — not as they see it, but as they feel it.
