This series of photos was taken in Lenghu, a town in Qinghai Province, China. Lenghu Town was once an uninhabited area. With the discovery of oil in the 1960s, it rapidly developed into a major town, attracting workers and their families from all over the country. However, as resources depleted, Lenghu Town quickly declined, its inhabitants migrated, and the remaining villages bear witness to this history. Surrounded by a desert with no life and the behind are the snow-capped mountains, the buildings of Lenghu Town stand silently, frozen in time.
