In 1945, during the final days of World War II, the United States dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. The bombings resulted in the loss of between 90,000 and 166,000 lives in Hiroshima alone. Almost 80 years later, the impact of the war is still felt in Hiroshima, where a shrine commemorates the victims. This series of photographs aims to convey a message about the enduring effects of war and the importance of peace.
