Suffocating Macau

In Macau's 33km², casino capitalism collides with survival: housing prices (MOP200K/sqm) force 72% of youth to delay marriage as living space shrinks to 12.8m²/capita—smaller than a parking spot. The #RightToBreathe movement resists cultural erasure: bulldozed fishing villages become yacht clubs, Tudigong altars turn into Instagram backdrops. Heritage now flickers in attic cha chaan tengs and pixelated memories. "My window frames neighbors' laundry," sighs a granny, "my TV screens casino fireworks—our world's shrunk to four walls." Concrete conquers, but stories persist.
