Known as the "Modern Spiral Staircase" (Scala del Bramante) of the Vatican Museums, this architectural gem is a remarkable fusion of early 20th-century modernism and classical ornamentation. Designed by Giuseppe Momo and completed in 1932, it was conceived as an exit staircase, featuring a double helix structure—a design with separate paths for ascending and descending, reminiscent of DNA. Here, visitors begin their descent back into the real world, still overwhelmed by the faith-inspired art they have just witnessed.
