As evening fell and the days grew longer, Helsinki Central Station was busy with people heading home. The platform’s arched roof ends abruptly, looking like the entrance to a path of light – I had to capture it. I’d set the aperture to auto, focusing only on ISO and sharpness. After shooting, I realized the aperture had accidentally dropped to f/22! I was nervous until development – but the result was surprisingly artistic. A happy accident that became one of my favorite shots.
I am a photographer based in Finland, originally from Japan. My background is in music, where I worked as a euphonium player before moving into visual storytelling. I specialize in still life photography, focusing on light, color, and composition to create minimal, cinematic images of everyday objects. My work explores contrasts such as white and deep green, and the balance between natural and artificial elements. Living in Finland has influenced my visual style, especially in its simplicity and use of space. I aim to create quiet, controlled images where light shapes emotion and atmosphere.
