On a quiet shore in Chiba, Japan, stands an old pier that once supported the lives of the local community. It has stood here for about a hundred years. Though no longer used for fishing, the pier continues to light up each evening, gently welcoming those who visit the coast. While I was photographing the scene, a crow suddenly appeared and perched nearby—casting a surreal atmosphere, as if it were a guide to another world.
