A couple dances during a tribute to singer Hector Lavoe called “A Dance for Peace” in the streets of the rough neighborhood of Tepito (one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Mexico City), where various sonideros (tropical music DJs) gathered for a massive dance to honor the memory of Lavoe and the salsa music that is an essential part of the popular culture of the Tepito neighborhood.
Photojournalist for 15 years, for 10 years she was part of the staff photographers in Excelsior newspaper in Mexico, she collaborated as a freelance photographer for Xinhua news agency,she published her work in national and international media, during the last years she has gone into the streets exploring street photography. She’s founder and curator of the Mexican Women Photographers community. She has exhibited her work in 3 solo exhibitions in Mexico and several group exhibitions.
