Every year, many girls in Myanmar become monks. Some are sent to temples by when they are less than 3 years old. Myanmar is a hard-hit area for child trafficking. Coupled with economic deterioration and war, thousands of girls are trafficked. Becoming a monk can not only help reduce the burden on poor families, also avoid being trafficked by human traffickers. They are not regarded as real monks and their social status is not high.Becoming a monk, although not the real liberation, at least can guarantee safety. They behave quietly, are compassionate and kind. I like to call them:Pink Lady!
