I took this photo during the Venice Carnival. The lady portrayed was dressed as an 18th-century noblewoman and was inside one of the oldest cafés in the lagoon city. I was outside, and the reflections on the glass created a striking and creative visual effect.

Simona Poncia approches photography after seeing an exhibition in Florence, entitled “Robert Mapplethorpe: perfection in form”. In the exhibition the american artist's photographs were placed side by side in comparison with Michelangelo's “David” and “The four prisons”.
