"Mantay:Anhelo y Pertenencia" documents the transformative journeys of underage mothers in an asylum home in Cusco, Peru, highlighting the remarkable resilience and healing of these young women, who find safety, hope, and empowerment within the home. According to UNICEF, every day, 12 girls between the ages of 10 and 14 become pregnant in Peru. The country has one of the highest rates of teenage pregnancies in Latin America, with nearly one in five girls becoming mothers before the age of 18. Globally, the number of adolescent pregnancies reaches 16 million each year.
