Portraits made at Pow Wow events held by the Ho-Chunk Nation in Madison and Monona, Wisconsin, USA. Pow Wow events celebrate indigenous Native American culture. Dancers wear a variety of regalia, many of which are family heirlooms passed down through generations. The participants dance in different styles that are appropriate to their regalia. The Ho-chunk name translates roughly to "People of the Sacred Voice."
