This photograph was taken off Mikura Island in Japan. In the cold waters of November, sand rose like a sea of drifting clouds as a dolphin turned gracefully in motion. In that moment, it appeared as if he were dancing through a galaxy beneath the sea. With freediving as my only means, I challenged myself to capture this extraordinary phenomenon. Even the island’s fishermen, who have lived alongside dolphins for generations, said they had never witnessed such a sight. This work is a collaboration between the elegance of the dolphin and a rare glimpse into an unseen dimension of nature.
