This work expresses the subtle and profound world of Noh theater. Within Noh, there exists a genre known as the “madwoman plays.” These works explore themes of a mother's anguish after losing a child, the torment of love and hatred, and the quest for salvation. These themes have been rendered through painterly depictions.
