Freedom to Tie is an art form turning the traditional use of shibari right side up, into something that allows a women to feel the freedom of using the rope and be in total control emphasizing the beauty of their body. Many of the ties can be self ties, that further show that the women can also use the shibari on their body in total privacy, safely, and appreciate the beauty of how they appear in the privacy of their own space. This photo was taken in Tokyo, Japan.

Grew up in Rochester, New York, and worked as an intern for a year at Eastman Kodak in the pre-digital camera days. After finishing college in New York moved to Japan for twenty seven years, and moved back to the States, Florida in 2014. After moving to Florida, joined a local Co-op gallery, and now I am a Director/Owner of the gallery called Butterfield Garage Art Gallery. It has been in business for just over twenty-five years.
