La Naissance du Mirage (The Birth of the Mirage) is a portrait series that, by using triptych mirrors to refract a single photographic image into multiple angles, provides a multi-angle portrait image. In these compositions, a single visage unfolds into countless variations—fragmented, inverted, repeated—suggesting that identity itself is a mirage: never fixed, always in flux. As a collection, the portraits form an immersive experience—a hall of shifting mirrors where the face becomes a mirage, and the mirage, in turn, gives birth to new ways of seeing. Starring Clothilde Hacourt.
I'm a photographer with a focus on portrait, street, and fine-art photography, and photography is my way of dealing with the world, people, stories, places, experiences. Photography is a therapeutic activity for me in a way, a survival strategy. I use light and shadow to capture what I feel, rather than what I see, and what I feel always takes precedence over what I see in what I do. I'm intrigued by the beauty of solitude, of people and places and in my work, this theme plays a dominant role.
