In ancient Japan, myriad gods were revered as embodiments of nature, leading to the evolution of Shinto as a structured religion. Today, shrines serve as vital social occasions that strengthen community bonds. Despite many modern Japanese not believing in gods, shrines remain cultural touchstones offering spiritual solace and harmony with nature. I aim to express the mystique of these sacred spaces and invite viewers to reconsider their historical and cultural significance from a contemporary perspective.
