Millionaire Castaway David Glasheen (82) recovers from a heart attack in the Red Cross rehabilitation centre in Cairns. David Glasheen, a former successful businessman, lost his fortune during the 1987 economic crash. He then ‘dropped out’ to lead a decades long solitary life on tiny Restoration Island off the coast of northern Australia, living off coconuts and fruits of the sea. He penned a World wide best selling book on his exploits. He was forced to leave his island following a heart attack and admitted to hospital. I found him at the Red Cross and made a portrait. Sadly he died 6th July.
