Bought a Fujifilm XT5 for my 40th. On Puglia beaches, I photographed a striking contrast: a proud woman with hats and a desperate child with toys. This "contradiction," common on Italian beaches with indifferent vacationers and poorly treated vendors, exemplifies globalization's effects. It's a life offered to migrants, like toiling in the sun. The woman likely knows Africa's harsh sun, unlike the child. This superimposed scene is a "punctum" to human dignity in 2024.
