The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles carries forward Gehry’s “fish as movement” philosophy. While not literally shaped like a fish, its dynamic curves, flowing stainless-steel surfaces, and sense of fluid motion embody what Gehry found so compelling in the form. In these works, I sought to capture this sense of movement while also placing it in dialogue with its surroundings. The Hall’s fluid, sculptural façade asserts its presence all the more vividly, standing in striking contrast to the rigid, geometric lines of the neighboring architecture.
